How many GB’s = 6oz?

27 08 2009

Some things can just make me smile for a week. It doesn’t happen a lot but when it happens it is like drinking nectar of the gods ;)

Today I had one of these moments when I received an email from one of my co-workers with in it a link to this forums question on the Microsoft answers forum:

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistahardware/thread/720108ee-0a9c-4090-b62d-bbd5cb1a7605

The questions is from January, but for all of you who missed it, this is an incredibly fun read. Also be sure to read all the replies, with mathematical equations explaining the GB to Pounds ratio’s trough the use of mathematical equations by the XVIIII century scholar Lineus Torvaldus.

And if you have anything to add to the discussion please continue the discussion in the comments below.

Have fun reading!

Prague

30 04 2008

I usually only put stuff on here that are related to work, but I had such a great time that I just had to share it with you.

Me and my buddy Tristan went to Prague for 4 days, and boy, what a great city that is. It felt like we were away for at least a week.

I did go there before by the way, but as most people I know, it was a school trip, and I did not do anything more than party at night and sleep the rest of the day ;).

There are so many great things to see, and you can do almost anything on foot. The feeling of the place is so relaxed, it has a vibe that is hard to describe.

One warning though: don’t fall for the crowds that stand waiting in front of the clock, it is absolutely not worth the wait, you’ll know what I mean when you get there.

And of course we met some very interesting people from all over the world. If you are reading this: It was very nice meeting you, send me an e-mail and maybe we can meet again somewhere else in the world, good luck with your exam.

As a final thought: If you have never been in Prague, go there tomorrow, and you will understand why Prague has the most tourists in Europe after Paris.

Bookmarks, Pictures and Projects

22 02 2008

Last week I have added a few things to my blog :

Pictures

I had prommised myself to put all the pictures, from the events I go to, onto Flickr. And because of a very nice WordPress plugin, these pictures are also available on my blog on the Pictures page. It also delivers a nice sidebar gadget showing some random pictures.

Projects

Until now I had no place to put some of my personal projects, for which I have created a Projects page.

Bookmarks

Recently I have started using del.icio.us to store interesting pages. And because I was already doing some work on my blog.

I only just realized that I just created 3 more places I have to keep up to date. Well, should have tought of that sooner :).

Wiinority Report

22 12 2007

Sometimes i am so inspired by things i read, see or hear, that i am not quite sure how to act on them. But i’m glad that have my Blog these days to at least share it with you all.

That we can connect our wiimote to our pc is not new, but what this guy is doing with it is realy refreshing and inspiring.

The principle behind a wiimote is a camera inside the wiimote that registers the 2 light sources inside you sensor bar on top of your tv. Bu what if you swap them: You place the wiimote on top or at the bottom of you tv and you move the light sources around, the applications are very endless. For example when you use a pair of glasses with 2 lights on eather side.

Especially his 3D viewport implementation is inspiring and the other makes the input devices from Minority Report science fact instead of function!

Everything is available as c# source code, i can’t wait to get them to work on my own laptop!
