Robs Usability Development : Silverlight, ASP.NET, Ajax, Agile, MVC & Volta

Next week in Barneveld, The Netherlands there is another great User eXperience InTrack session with  Robert Kuunders from Opatel. This time however Robert has asked me to join him and add a little bit more technical Silverlight 2.0 stuff to the mix. And ofcourse I am very happy to join in.

We will go and explore User Experience, Expression Studio, Blend 2.5, Silverlight 2.0 and Visual Studio and do some nice developer designer workflow. Ofcourse we will also try to get a little discussion going on the subjects.

Hearing and viewing a recording of yourself is not a thing I enjoy very much.

But now en then I also use this blog just for entertainment purposes and sometimes, like in this case, just to punish myself.

Currently at the Lisbon airport waiting for my flight. Was here way to early so got a lot of time on my hands.

I did the TechDays presentation yesterday, and I think it went ok, but I’d rather wait for the verdict from the audience, it is still out :). I did get some great feedback at the end of the session. I just hope I have made some people download and develop Silverlight   after my session.

To all the people who sent an e-mail or contacted me trough the contact form, thank you for your feedback, there were some questions I was not able to answer but I will try and get them for you in the following weeks.

I added some pictures of the TechDays to the pictures page. But I forgot to take them with my own camera, so I’m "borrowing" them from other sites.

Also check out the bookmarks page, which has a lot of new cool Silverlight stuff.

It’s about 24 degrees here, pretty sunny, although the clouds are coming in now. And I’m going back to Amsterdam where it is 5 degrees and raining. I love coming home, but they should do something about the weather. Does anyone know someone who can do something about that ?

Well back to converting the poker room to Silverlight 2.0, damn I like the new 2.0 release :).

Back from Mix, glad to be home again, but missing the sun :).

It was a great ride, with too much stuff happening, and too many new people to meet . But it was definitely worth going. For everyone who did not go this year, place a big X in your agenda for next year on the 18th to 20th of March.

Even if your not into the sessions, which can all be viewed on the net within 24 hours of every session at http://sessions.visitmix.com, you have to be there to meet and hear interesting professionals from around the world. What a great networking and learning opportunity! maybe just for the Mix09 Limited Edition Zune?

On to the next event, TechDays in Lisbon for which I had the honor of being asked to be one of the speakers on the main stage. So for all the Portuguese readers: see you there!. The presentation will be a summary of all the Silverlight 2.0 stuff that was presented at Mix. Almost too much to put in the 2 75 minute sessions.

Well, back to creating the last slides and demo’s.

Stichting DotNed en de SDN (Software Developer Network) organiseren met enige regelmaat zeer interessante evenementen. DotNed zijn vooral enkele sessies in de avond en de SDN heeft zijn eendaagse SDE en meerdaagse SDC evenementen.

Stichting DotNed heeft volgende week voor het eerst een Hands-On lab over WorkFlow Foundation met Maurice de Beijer in het MIC, klik hier om je aan te melden. In tegenstelling tot de normale sessies word je hier zonder aanmelding niet binnengelaten.

Halverwege december is er ook weer een Software Developer Event (SDE) over usability waar je kunt komen kijken naar sessies van o.a. Christiaan van Bergen, Pieter Joost vd Sande, Andre Obelink, Martin Tirion, Dennis Vroegop en nog heel veel anderen die je hier kunt vinden.

Ook kun je hier komen kijken naar mijn “Ontwikkelen met Silverlight” presentatie, waar ik probeer in te gaan op de mogelijkheden die silverlight voor ons developers gaat bieden in versie 2.0.

Dit zijn sessies en evenementen die je als echte liefhebber en professional eigenlijk niet mag missen, dus hoop ik je daar te zien!

Ik ga een verhaal houden over Silverlight, en dan vooral houvast proberen te geven om direct aan de slag te kunnen met deze geweldige nieuwe technologie.
